KAYO Releases New Album GABRIEL — A Cinematic and Introspective Exploration of Healing and Self-Discovery
Halifax, NS — St. Lucian-born, Halifax-based artist KAYO unveils his latest album, GABRIEL, available now on all streaming platforms. Executive produced by KAYO and NULO, the 11-track project marks a defining shift in both his sound and storytelling—trading movement for stillness, and exploration for reflection.
Rooted in hip-hop and layered with elements of soul, gospel, and Afro-Caribbean influence, GABRIEL is a deeply personal body of work that unfolds like a therapy session. Each track acts as a mirror, navigating themes of mental health, accountability, addiction, generational trauma, identity, and purpose.
“GABRIEL is a moment of stillness in a life of chaos. It’s me sitting with myself, asking the questions I’ve been avoiding, and facing everything head-on. This isn’t about the journey anymore—it’s about what happens when you finally come home to yourself,” says KAYO.
Opening track “Depth of Field,” produced by Tone Mason, sets the tone with a cinematic and meditative soundscape, anchoring the project in the idea of perspective—how we see ourselves and the world around us. From there, GABRIEL moves through moments of vulnerability, tension, and release, balancing raw lyricism with intentional, atmospheric production.
Following a run of projects centered on global exploration—including TRIP, Extended Trip, and Club Pack—GABRIEL represents a return home. It captures KAYO at his most focused and introspective, delivering one of his most vulnerable and fully realized works to date.
With contributions from Quake Matthews, BASYL, and Zamani Folade, and production led by NULO, the album solidifies KAYO’s place within a new wave of artists pushing thoughtful, emotionally resonant hip-hop forward.
GABRIEL is now available on all streaming platforms.
