KAYO & Zamani Folade Unite on Reflective New Single & Music Video "Hol' a Medz" RELEASE DATE: May 6, 2025 St. Lucian born, Halifax based artist KAYO returns with his latest single and music video "Hol' A Medz," a soulful, meditative collaboration with Zamani Folade. Produced by NULO, the record blends reggae, soul, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms with live instrumentation from Charlie Benoit (guitar) and Teddy Skiffington (bass & hand drums). Rooted in Caribbean culture, "Hol' a Medz" is a call to pause and reflect — to hold a moment of meditation in the midst of life's chaos. The video, co-directed by KAYO and Charlie Benoit, brings the song's message to life with grounding visuals and warm, organic textures. This collaboration is a full-circle moment: Zamani is the daughter of the St. Lucian professor, Harvey Miller, who originally inspired KAYO's move to Halifax — a connection that deepens the meaning behind the track. Following the single release, Zamani will perform at the St. Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival on May 8, where KAYO performed in 2023, continuing a legacy of Caribbean creativity on a global stage. The single also drops on the heels of the 2025 East Coast Music Awards, where KAYO will be performing at the Gala in addition to being nominated for 3 awards - Global record of the year for "Lightning in a bottle" ft. aRENYE, African Canadian Artist of the year, and R&B/Soul Recording of the year for "City on Fire" w/ aRENYE, BASYL, and NULO.
